The Music Producers Guild believes that Martin Mills, CEO of the Beggars Group, and winner of the MPG Award for Outstanding Contribution to UK Music in 2012, has raised several issues of great importance to the international music industry and applauds his forthright, rational and independent viewpoint.
These views were expressed in a speech he gave recently at the Entertainment Law Initiative lunch in Los Angeles.
Martin has called for greater co-operation between record labels, and business practices which are more transparent and fairer to artists and rights holders, and he believes that a greater sense of community is essential to tackling the emerging challenges of the streaming economy.
These are views which the MPG endorses.
