I think Laura deserves to win self producing artist of the year for Exotic Monsters because she has written and produced an absolutely stunning album, as well as self releasing and ending up in the UK top 40. The production on this album really is outstanding, and the fact that it did so well commercially as a self release really is testament to that
This album is incredibly accomplished – it has all the energy of 90’s American Riot Grrl records and sounds like it was mixed by an expensive American mixer, and is all the work of one person, Laura Kidd, who has been around for a while with various projects and absolutely deserves recognition for this record.
