It takes a special sort of producer to produce a folk album that makes ‘best of year’ lists, charts outside of its genre in the UK, charts in Folk Charts on both sides of the Atlantic AND the artist is your 85 year old mother. Calum MacColl has superb technical skills in the studio, a creative mind and a huge amount of tact, diplomacy, empathy and patience. Reviews have noted the beautifully sparse production, the sense of intimacy and that Peggy Seeger’s voice shows little sign of ageing.
