UK Music Creators Survey

UK Music Calls On Creators To Contribute To Survey To Help Understand State of The Music Industry in 2021

UK Music today launched a survey for creators that it hopes will give them a better understanding of the economic landscape of the music industry.

The pandemic has meant the past two years have been incredibly tough for music creators, with many struggling to make ends meet.

As the collective voice for the UK music industry, who represent AIM, BPI, FAC, The Ivors Academy, MMF, MPA, MPG, Musicians’ Union, PPL and PRS for Music, UK Music needs accurate data to show the impact COVID-19 has had on music creators.

This survey will help UK Music collect the data it needs to make the case to Government for support. Find out more about what UK Music do here.

The survey helps UK Music analyse key trends and document day-to-day conditions in the music business, enabling year-on-year comparisons as the industry tries to rebuild after the pandemic.

Most important of all, the survey allows us to recognise and acknowledge the value of creators’ work – and gives us the evidence we need to help fight for their interests when engaging with government, policymakers and other key stakeholders.

The survey will form a key part of UK Music’s annual report, which is the key document used by policymakers and industry professionals when discussing the music industry and the challenges it faces. Last year’s report can be read the report here.

The survey is open to anyone who is a full-time or part-time professional music creator. This includes artists, composers, writers, engineers and producers.

UK Music is asking for personal data but all responses are confidential and managed in accordance with GDPR legislation.

Just filling in the survey enters you into a prize draw where you could win one of several great prizes: a £100 Amazon voucher, a £100 GAK music store voucher or a £100 PMT music store voucher.
