AIR Studios battles to survive

AIR StudiosThe planning battle being fought by Air Studios to stop disruption to their business is still dragging on.

The neighbours are continually changing the application and this regrettably requires new objections to be registered with the planning authority. If you’ve already objected, your comments will not be carried over to the renewed application!

They’ve now dropped the cinema from their application but the pool still remains and this entails an extensive dig and build programme so, from Air Studio’s perspective, the problem still remains.

Fortunately, Camden are re-consulting on the new plan and have said that consent will not be granted if Air Studios can prove harm.

Obviously, if clients stop booking because of the uncertainty of noise and vibration, this is harm.

The Executive Board of the MPG appeals to everyone to further object, making it clear again from a professional perspective that a recording studio can’t run sessions if there is noise and vibration from adjacent works.

The closing date for objections is July 6th.
