Accomplished, professional mixers sought for free mixing residencies

Hello all

I’m currently developing a research project with researchers at the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary University of London. Many aspects of musical endeavour (performing, composing etc.) have been the subject of detailed study, but studio art and practice much less so, particularly mixing.
We are hoping to address via a large-scale project that will investigate the process and outcomes via human and technological agents of mixing. We want to further understanding of mixing as a creative and engineering process

There will be a number of strands to this project. One of these will be a series of mixing residencies, where we will invite professional practitioners to use our facilities (SSL console with range of digital and analogue outboard) to work on commercial commissions for free, in return for detailed ethnographic, but anonymised, observation of the process. These residencies would be for a week each, use of the studio facilities would be free with travel and accommodation provided along with modest subsistence expenses. They would take place at the Contemporary Music Research Centre here at the University of York.
