Shared Parental Pay To The Self-employed: Further Developments

The MPG welcomes the announcement by Tracy Brabin MP, to table a 10-minute Rule Bill motion to extend Shared Parental Pay to the self-employed.

The Bill, known as the “Shared Parental Leave Extension” bill, would extend the right to shared parental leave to self-employed people including most engineers and producers, who are ineligible under current rules.

This is a breakthrough following months of campaigning by the MPG and the UK Music-backed pressure group, Parental Pay Equality, headed up by MPG Full Member, Olga Fitzroy.
