World Hearing Day is held on 3 March each year to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world.
This year the theme is ‘Check Your Hearing’, to draw attention to the importance of early identification and intervention for hearing loss. Many people live with unidentified hearing loss, often failing to realise that they are missing out on certain sounds and words. By checking your hearing, you’re taking the first step towards tackling this important issue.
The Music Producers Guild is teaming up with Flare Audio to support this important campaign. Flare have allocated 10 sets of their renowned Isolate® PRO titanium ear protectors for MPG Full members.
To enter, email your name and contact details to info@flareaudio.com with the subject heading ‘MPG World Hearing Day’, including your name, MPG full membership number and a postal address.
The ear protectors will be allocated to the first ten members who email in.
‘As professionals working in the music industry it is essential that we are aware of the health of our ears. In both studios and live venues, we are often exposed to potentially damaging levels of sound. The Flare Isolate® ear protectors are a great way to avoid damage and ensure that we can continue in our chosen careers for many years to come.’ – MPG Director, Bruno Ellingham.
“Those of us who are fortunate to be able to hear, know how special this sense is,” says Flare founder, Davies Roberts. “Hearing is one of the ways that we can communicate and connect with people, it’s one of the ways that we can feel an emotional response to music, nature and the world. Think for a moment how it would feel to damage your hearing, or to completely lose it. Next time you are about to expose your ears to loud sounds think about that again and protect them.”
