Thomas Mitchener 1

Thomas Mitchener deserves the MPG Award for Breakthrough Producer of the Year as he has had an amazing year despite the challenges of lockdown with a one year old son! He produced and mixed albums by singer-songwriter Bryde and rock act Naked Six and singles by hotly tipped new acts Chappaqua Wrestling (including Radio 1 favourite The Rift), and Wargasm (including God Of War which has been chosen as the theme for WWE’s UK NXT) as well as the new album from Hello Operator. He has also been instrumental in putting together the forthcoming deluxe anniversary edition of Frank Carter & The RattlesnakesÕ album Blossom including producing and mixing Fire, the first track to be released.

I feel that in the last year my production work has continued to improve across the board. I am a totally one person operation, undertaking all engineering, producing, comping, editing and mixing on my own. With all the projects I have been working on, it has been solely my responsibility to bring them to completion within the often tight budgets I am working with. In the last year I have broadened my production range by working with a much larger range of styles and I pride myself on providing an atmosphere for artists to perform at their best while having the knowledge to make the very best of the recordings of their performances. I am a strong supporter of new and upcoming artists and it’s always my professional aim to assist a band or artist in creating exactly what they want with their music as well as showing them all the possibilities that are open to them.
