Sally Herbert

Sally has been a string/orchestral arranger for over 25 years. She has contributed arrangements to many great worldwide artists including Florence & the Machine, Mumford and sons, Travis, Rex Orange County, Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher and many more. There seems to be no awards for arrangers in this country and myself and many other musicians who play for Sally’s sessions would like to nominate her for this award.

Sally is an arranger who, over the past 25 years, has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including the likes of Florence and the Machine, Radiohead, Mumford & Sons and Manic Street Preachers. Her work has contributed to truly astounding and emotional pieces, including those she’s worked on over the past year like London Grammar’s ‘Lord It’s a Feeling’ and Woodkid’s ‘Goliath’. The arrangements range from strings, brass and vocals to full orchestras and span across genres. Sally is trusted and respected in the industry and goes above and beyond in her communication with artists to achieve their desired sound, evidenced by the high demand she appreciates. Sally’s work is of vital importance to the industry, arrangements are such an important part of production, but are not always given the credit and there are very few awards dedicated to them. I therefore wholeheartedly believe that the ‘Unsung Hero’ accolade would be justly awarded to her and her craft.
