Paula Wolfe is a highly critically acclaimed artist-producer. Self-producing since the early noughties, her work has consistently received strong support. Her new album, White Dots, has been hailed ‘exquisite’, ‘glorious’ and ‘addictive’ (* * * * MOJO). Her production has seen MOJO critic Lucy O’Brien positioning her as ‘a latter-day Carole King’, highlighting her ‘glorious Brill Building-style chant’ and her ‘flowing arrangements’ that ‘build and drive each track, leading us through a world of broken love, memory and magic realism’. Long viewed as a ‘a splendid songwriter’ (Nigel Williamson, Uncut) with a ‘knack for hitting the mark on both sides of the desk’ (Neil King, Fatea Magazine),Wolfe has produced ‘a joyful soul pop follow-up to 2009’s Lemon’ (LOB) and a body of work highly deserving of an MPG award.
