Matthew Herbert 2

Testimonials

In self-producing this album Matthew Hebert undertook a project of epic proportions that involved over 1000 musicians, singers, sound recordists and other collaborators from across the UK and Europe. It involved 25 piece big bands and up to 100 strong choir recording sessions in Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK, as well as recordings made on the English channel of a cross channel swimmer, over the skies of Essex in a WW2 fighter plane, deep frying a trumpet in a fish and chip shop in Grimsby and having a sound recordist walk the entire length of the Northern Irish land border. Not only did Matthew design, compose and oversee this mass collaborative project, he then edited and produced the finished album out of these varied and challengingly realised recordings to make his most ambitious work to date.
