Originally a private recording facility in North London, MCS opened it’s doors to commercial clients in mid 2014.
Since then studio has welcomed artists such as Nick Cave, The Divine Comedy, Ed Sheeran, Jamie Cullum, Alexis Ffrench, Dame Shirley Bassey, Paloma Faith, Claire Martin, Tim Garland, Jess Gillam, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, Bing Crosby amongst others. The studio has also been used to record and mix for composers George Fenton, Rachel Portman and for TV and film scores like Doctor Who, Call The Midwife, Hell or High Water, Gentleman Jack and Dark Money. MCS has a beautiful 2019 Steinway Model D, 5.1 ATC monitoring, ample booths, an SSL 4040, Neve 1081R and a vast array of microphones and outboard equipment. As large studio facilities in London are on the decline, I feel MCS should be considered for the MPG Studio of the Year award as it’s managed to thrive by offering clients top quality service, equipment and maintenance.
