Livingston Studios

The legendary North London complex continues to be one of the capital’s most popular studio facilities, 4 decades after opening its doors at its current location. Livingston is home to two superb tracking spaces, with a rich heritage spanning artists such as The Clash, Depeche Mode, Erasure, REM, Kanye, Muse, Friendly Fires and The 1975. Versatility has been the word of the year for Livingston, with this incredible client list bolstered by an array of genre-spanning artists. Studio 1 hosted the likes of Razorlight, Ezra Collective, JP Cooper and Nubya Garcia, whilst the smaller Studio 2 provided the perfect creative environment for artists such as Loyle Carner, Priya Ragu, James Bay and Tom Grennan. One of this year’s highlights was working with Balimaya Project, a 16-piece fusing the sound of the Mande people with London’s jazz scene. Maxing out Studio 1’s 72 channel SSL G+ with Balafon’s, Kora’s, Talking Drums and more – the whole session was recorded live as an ensemble.
