Testimonials

After a 10 year break, The Wildhearts surprised fans by coming back with one of their strongest works to date which received rave reviews across the board, LA Weekly record of the week and hit no. 11 in the album chart. The Wildhearts were my favourite band when I was 15. They are still my favourite band at 38. To be asked to produce an album for your all time favourite band is not only an honour, but also a huge responsibility. I had to make the album that I, as a fan wanted to hear. Sometimes that meant going against my natural instincts to get “perfect” takes, often we wouldn’t even tune the guitar!!! This album brought out the best in me and encouraged me to put energy, personality and excitement over anything else and thankfully, it seemed to resonate with fans. In a world of safe sounding guitar bands, The Wildhearts are a dangerous, honest rock n’ roll band and I think I captured that. I produced my favourite album by my favourite ban it doesn’t get much better than that!
