Testimonials

This project came about when my production outfit, god colony worked with Mykki in Lisbon in 2019 and heard all of their upcoming music. It was recorded in multiple locations across 5 countries with a multitude of guests (with contributions from Blood Orange Hudson Mohawke, Big Freedia). The challenges presented from a mix POV was to solidify these disparate and often contrasting recordings and styles and make it one with a consistency all the while taking care to aid the artist’s and producers’ vision as a body of work. I would like a chance to be considered for the MPG award as this record was the third of 3 consecutive ‘underground’ hits albums I was involved in including Beatrice Dillons’s ‘Workaround’ and Sega Bodega’s ‘Salvador’. I came to London from Liverpool later in my 20s couldn’t get a break in a big institution so it would mean a lot to be even considered in the same breath as your previous nominees. Here’s hoping!
