Darren Lawson

When I moved over from A&R to talent management I knew that Darren was one of the first people I wanted to represent. He’s got the most incredible ear for detail and is one of the most persistent people that I’ve ever met. I don’t think I’ve ever worked with someone as able to get what the client’s thinking out of their head and onto the desk. He’s previously engineered for Flood & Alan Moulder, as well as inhouse at Metropolis and that’s set a high bar for the sonic of his mixes. This year’s been great for Darren thanks to his ongoing relationship with Chess Club’s new bedroom pop star Alfie Templeman. Darren’s been taking Alfie’s bedroom productions and making them into records that sound great digitally and on the radio (Happiness In Liquid Form has been streamed over 4million times on Spotify alone and made it onto the Radio 1 C-List) while still keeping the integrity of the artists vision.
