I believe that I (Self-nominated) deserve this award due to the short time and extreme difficulties I faced to put together, mix and master 7 songs for my EP. These songs were first recorded 4 years ago, but never released as I had a terrible mishap that nearly killed me, ended up in a coma for weeks and managed to fight through in the end. It left me half blind and mostly deaf, with no balance due to hearing loss, etc. Took me 4 years to get through the depression and completely giving up the fight. I had to give up on my 10 year career and decided to turn to my natural talent in music. So last year, I eventually enrolled at Point Blank Music School for a 6 month Music Production diploma course online. Mixing the whole EP took me at least 8 months and the EP is now out on YouTube plus other online stores. 4 of 7 songs are 5 * & 3 of 7 rated at 4 * by the UK Songwriting Contest 2019. Entered them to get an idea of my mixing & mastering techniques as my hearing loss keeps worrying me.
After a near death experience in 2014 that changed his life completely, this now half blind/deaf producer has come a long way to get here. He is grafting a new career due to mishap and recently released his first Single in April 2019, titled ‘Can’t Play Like This’. The song is free for listening on YouTube and also up for sale in all major online stores and was recently rated at 5 stars by the 2019 UK Songwriting Contest. Such a big achievement I think. Ace Rockwell also has an EP album entitled ‘Buried To Rise’ due for release on Sept 5th 2019 in all major online music stores. He truly has come a long way despite his now DAILY struggles just to live a normal life. Music is his passion and life. A good friend of mine, Ace Rockwell is a truly inspirational, hardworking and very honest individual. I hate to imagine what he has been through and yet never gives up. Winning this award will surely not cure him, but it would give him the belief, encouragement and exposure that he deserves.
